About Me

When I was a toddler my parents bought the DVD of Dreamworks' "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" which sparked a horse girl phase that went on far longer than it should have. I was obsessed with everything to do with horses - especially this film. I remember going through the special features every day, it was my favourite thing to do. One of my most formative memories was watching James Baxter's tutorial on how to draw Spirit, just as he appeared on the screen. I spent hours re-watching it, trying to perfect my shoddy artwork. Unbeknownst to me, this video would kickstart a love of not just horses, but of art, and the medium of animation. I've left my horse girl era behind, but I often look back at that tutorial, and wonder how my life would be had my parents not picked up that DVD.

My Story

As a child I had a wild imagination. One day, my dad told me I should try putting it to use and writing my own novel. It wasn't a particularly thrilling read, but I developed a thirst for conjuring up my own characters and writing stories. My original characters are a major part of who I am, and I hope one day I can share their stories with the world through my drawings and animations.

The picture above is my character Natalie and her different iterations throughout the years. I like to look back at my past work and see how far I've come. I am excited to see what the future holds and how my work will develop.
